Alright, Thomas ~ Here it is. This board and it's cheerleaders and detractors are not the reason I'm invested in this stock. This board has nothing to do with the prospects of this company. Granted, there is (or used to be) some usefulness in that information regarding Franklin can be dispersed quickly and efficiently. As you and I both know, that usefulness has been diminished by this very type of post that I am writing. In regards to the 'FTEL thought Police', I have to admit that as a whole the investors (including myself) in Franklin are second to none in their fervor. After having met many of the shareholders in WLV, I know that this isn't a bunch of 'fanatics' following blindly. The unfortunate facet of the internet (including these boards) is that it is a very impersonal, one diminsional way of relating. Tonality, intent, humour (ou for Martin) and countless other qualities can not be expressed accurately if at all. It is no surprise to me that there are 'personality conflicts' and it becomes easy to like or dislike someone because of their views or their talent for (or lack of) expressing those views. What I am saying is that if you met the same people that I did at the shareholders' meeting, you would not hold the same views you have of them currently. Not that you would agree with them but you would certainly have to respect their level of investigation of this company and the industry in general. I came away very humbled because up to that point, I thought I had done good DD. I received an education. But there is more to it. The quality of the person does NOT transfer over the net. Character does not lend itself to script. I work very hard to be objective about this investment. I'm not. But I keep my eyes and ears open looking for any major 'flaw' that would cause me to recalculate my position. (Just ask Helen). In doing so I find more and more to be positive about. This is not to say that I am not dead wrong. I can be. (just ask my wife). But after spending the amount of time and money researching this company you might be able to understand why I or someone like me would be less than accommodating to someone that only bellies up the past mistakes (which this company has certainly had their share), without ever calling the company, traveling to WLV, or talking to industry professionals or even taking the time to see if their information is indeed correct. I'm down on this investment right now. Only time will determine whether or not I am making the smart choice by investing in Franklin. If I hadn't done my homework to the best of my ability, I would not be hanging in there. I answered your questions to the best of my ability (from memory) but if you are really seeking the answers, don't you believe it would be smarter to get them from the source? And yes, if you have a response to my answers I would welcome that. I'm not looking for everyone to agree with me but I certainly don't want anyone slamming my investment with malicious intent. Whether its directed at the company or other shareholders. I apologize to everyone for the length of this post. If I had more time, I would have made it shorter. ~ Jack (not proof read)
