<Put your head down and buy it. A dozen roses, a diamond necklace, and dinner at Chez Chic will help your wife's acceptance.>

Sure makes being married and a pc owner an expensive combination. Roses. Diamonds. Dinner. What happened to the good ole days when all you had to do was buy them a new vacuum cleaner. :)

Still, going back to my question that might make this a useful discussion. Do you all see new processors coming out as quickly as they did in the past, and is there a change in processors that looms on the horizon? Merced is delayed. Move to 64 bit could have been something worth waiting for. A PIII anytime soon?

Like I said, I am aware the technology is always getting better, but somehow it looks like things might be slowing. Perhaps this is an illusion, or a marketing game to stabilze prices? Does Intel really want to sell a 600 mhtz computer next Feb?

Ultra ATA 66 might make the disk drive faster. Is there another bus change? Faster memory? Better graphics? Maybe just a huge price drop? What could make the PC, or Lap Top of mid 99 worth waiting for?

Regards,

Mark

PS Be sure to check your 30 day price guarantee. Dell will surely send you something if you remember to ask. Did they charge you sales tax?
