Am I reading it wrong?

Both verses are saying that Satan attempted to throw falsehood in all Prophets' revelations. The second translator has chosen "framed a desire" to refer to the message that was given to him. That desire was to speak God's words.

I can't help but draw a parallel to Christianity here. Perhaps then you'll better understand it:

Look at these 2 verses, one from the RSV and the other from the KJV:

John 3:16

KJV:For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

RSV:For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

What happened? One says "begotten" and the other "only." Is there a difference??

Peace be unto you,
Norris
