Kenneth R. Moss,

There are many characteristics of "rollups" like RECY that become problems in commodity-based industries in a deflationary environment.

These characteristics and their problems are not something new. Textbook chapters, two and three week lectures, address these subjects in various universities. Here, however, people sometimes pay their tuition without benefit of knowledge or understanding. Months ago I attempted to make some of these elements clear to RECY thread members. For drawing attention to these factors, I was flamed vigorously by "nice" members and not-so-nice members of the thread. Oh well, I'm a big boy and I understand who does what and for what reasons. Cads like Skane (and his $75) are unfortunately normal on the internet.

Not only that, but among many other indiscretions practiced on the thread, true propaganda techniques were implemented to drown out opposing thought rather than thought and reason. Sloganeering, repetitive messages, rumor, "insider information," and emotionalism and near-deification of the thread's creator replaced reason and judgement based on the lessons of the past and sound economic principles.

Now at 1 1/4 "RECY for the long term" should be a cruel joke for longs, and a joy to behold for shorts.

I would like to suggest to other thread members the following:

Watch the films "House of Games" and "Wall Street." While watching review and make sure that you understand the concept of "confidence."

Then go back over the thread with your screen tiled: have the thread messages posted on one side, and a chart on the other. Something like this one (a weekly candlestick chart)

I think you will see some very sophisticated posts. I think you know what I'm talking about, and, yes, Kenneth, if I were you, I'd wish to hell you [Ed Doell] would get lost!!!!!" But Kenneth, I understand you, and JS...and others...you've done well for yourselves...maybe it's time for people like you to get lost from SI.

So, my man, the feeling is mutual.

Ed
