Thank you for your response. You have pointed out some things I hadn't thought of. Very perceptive. I wonder if Bill Murphy would be interested in your observations. And I agree that using SDR's gives a more complete picture of where gold might be going.

I saw some "currency adjusted" charts of several years ago that used the dollar index (then 15 currencies, I believe) when charting commodity prices. Many, including gold, showed a different picture when compared to a regular comex chart. It really caught my eye. I couldn't find anything current which prompted my request of you.

By the way, the SDR chart re gold is spiking. Do you know how up-to-date it is? Sure says a lot.
