Unbridled optimism? This thread? Cautious hope seems more like what I see here. In fact, several of us have admitted to having lightened our holdings to protect against yet another wave of selling.

JMHO.

If you believe in the "interest rate speculation" theory of why
the market has been up....you may be right. This thread may
occasionally even be right :-)

Depends on what Mr. Greenspan does with interest rates tomorrow
when he is "expected" to lower it. If he does not, SUNW and the
rest who have been on a upswing will tumble. If he does, current
price levels may even hold.

The week's NASDAQ performance (and Sun's unrestrained price drop) has proved your response right. Still, I have only been hearing good things about Sun's prospects in Europe, especially on the stranglehold they appear to have established in terms of their internet server business with ISPs.

In addition, they would appear to have weaned themselves out of their previous sole reliance on workstations quite well, though I've no idea of its %age of Sun's overall revenues.

Next 2 weeks (thru' Friday, Oct. 16th) should prove interesting. I've never seen such harsh treatment of tech stocks within a week in the last 10 years.

I still think their earnings will come in within my (bullish) estimates.

Regards,
