You're still grabbing at straws. What does McDonalds in Tienamin have to do with copying a PC design? Did the Chinese set up a counterfeit McDonalds?

Why are you assuming NTT DoCoMo, Ericsson, and the rest of the UMTS jihaad are going to start pumping illegal handsets and infastructure into the US? Will the US round this equipment up at the loading docs and grind $200Mil of hardware into sawdust? That's what they do to counterfeit Madonna CD's.

What if the Chinese suddenly discover that if Qualcomm's IPR is fair game, why not Nokia's, Ericsson's, Alcatel, Siemens, Bosch, etc.? Not really in the best interest of Ericsson, is it?

For someone who claims to know the patent industry, I don't understand why you would assume this precident would be allowed by anyone.

Dave,

The US has more leverage over friendly countries that want to continue to be friendly than over rogue regimes like Iraq, Iran, North Korea or China (Yeah, this should bring Ramsey back <g>)
