Chris,

You no what's funny. I have been a big sports fan all my life, before and now during my Christian life. And I am a Mets fan! I know they choked!

But my point is that even being a Christian, I find my emotions being played on so strongly because of a sticking baseball team. Now I don't worship them or idolize them, nor even think there are anything more than young men playing a kids game! But bases-loaded, two outs, bottom of the ninth or folding at the end of a season like they did, literally gets my adrenaline flowing, blood pumping, or depressed whatever the case may be, and its like a possession that takes over in my body or something.

It is very short lived, of course! And I'm normal soon after the occurrence. But I often ponder, if people can get worked up like that over a sports team or person, and even to a worse extent then me, why can't they get like that about God? God is greater than any sports team or event. In fact, he created it. Just for us! Heck, he created everything for us! He is more exciting than anything we can imagine!

So why can't us sports fanatics get worked up over God as we do sports?

Steve

PS- I'm personally more enthusiastic about God than anything! But why can't more people be?
