Hi j_b; Yeah, partisan doesn't mean invalid. To suggest that the two are equivalent is a standard ad hominem attack. Hate to have to admit it, but I have used it myself. It is a sign that the arguer is lacking in logic or truth (or maybe is just too busy).

By the way, it's been said on this thread that Clinton's enemies can't wait to see him go. I think the same thing can be said for any politician's enemies. Similarly, any politician's friends can't stand to have to part with him. This is normal behavior, and is present 90% of the time, and can be safely ignored.

It's the exceptions that are more significant. A Republican supported by a Democrat or vice-versa. Politicians that win the respect of their party and philosophical opponents are the ones that stand out.

When you see a politician's own friends asking him to leave, you know that something significant has changed. That is why Nixon had to go. That is what Clinton is currently experiencing. Et tu, Brutus?
