If NT is such a weak operating system, why is it gaining acceptance in the corporate server environment at such a rapid rate, mostly at the expense of Unix boxes???

Fred,

Until recently, the cost of UNIX boxes and software was not competitive. That is changing with Linux and x86 Solaris, not to mention Sun's own product line.

If the cost of an NT server was identical to the cost of a UNIX server, it would be rather foolish to run NT. That is not to say there aren't a large number of IS managers who have been brainwashed by Microsoft.
