Hi Herring,
I have posted this in the past. Recessions result from over capacity, over construction, and over abundance (over production / supply). We, the US, are in this situation. I have no idea whether we will end up or down tomorrow.* Just, we are in a bear market entering a recession; and interest rate reductions will not prevent it. We are too late in the economic cycle - real supply exceeds real demand.

* Going up? then Going down? My indicators are headed in both directions. I'd sell any rally and your on your own in the down move.
