09/28/98 -- BERKELEY, CA -- uBid Inc. is an online auction website that has secured
deals with Americal Online, Compaq and Apple Computer. uBid Inc. is a subsidary of
Creative Computers, Inc.(NASDAQ MALL).

uBid Inc. http//www.ubid.com is expected to IPO next week or shortly thereafter.

uBid Inc. has also linked a deal with America Online that gives AOL's 11-million-strong
horde of subscribers direct access to uBid and PCMall through the service's Shopping
Channel.

uBid Inc., is also currently in a comprehensive sales and marketing campaign in
partnership with Compaq Computer Corporation (NYSE CPQ) to increase its sales of
Compaq product to small and medium-sized businesses.

''We are excited about our enhanced partnership with Creative Computers,'' said
Compaq's Bob Gregerson, Director of Retail Channels for North America. ''The
partnership with Creative Computers offers Compaq a very efficient method to
penetrate incremental commercial product opportunities in the small and medium-sized
business segment. With Creative's diverse blend of direct response marketing,
outbound telesales, field sales and e-commerce, they cover all the bases.''

In January 1998, uBid had net revenues of $157,000 and in the month of June 1998
net revenues have grown to approximately $3.0 million. uBid currently runs seven
auctions per week, offering as many as 1,000 items per auction. During the month of
June 1998, uBid recorded more than one million visits to its Website. Now uBid receives

uBid Inc. Website reeled in online sales of $5.5 million from all its Internet sites in the
fourth quarter of 1997, compared with less than $1 million in 1996.

During the six months since its launch by Creative in December, 1997, Creative
Computers, uBid Inc. has grown to monthly sales volume of more than 15,000 items.

uBid Inc. is expected to IPO during the beginning of October. Merrill Lynch and William
Blair are UBID's underwriters.
