DD,

risk/reward (money management) considerations as related to current overall volatility and the inherent cautious psychological tenor dictate that when buying individual stocks on the basis of fast buy signals, a willingness to "scalp" quick returns is preferable.
The technical damage to the great majority of smallcaps precludes buying this majority for the intermediate or long term until verification of serious investor interest is exhibited.
There will be a heap of excellent 2 and 3 day opportunities. There will also always exist great long term bargains. Right now, a premium will go to the very nimble. You have to go with the tenor of the overall market.
