Internet users to triple by 2000
As many as 327 million people are expected to be accessing the Internet by the end of the year 2000, according to an industry trade publication. The Internet Industry Almanac projects the United States will account for 40 percent of those users, or 132 million. The Almanac estimated there were 100 million Net users at the end of 1997. The top five countries for Net users in 2000 will include the United States, Germany (22.9 million), Japan (21.9 million), the United Kingdom (17 million) and France (12.6 million), it was estimated. The Internet Industry Almanac is published by Computer Industry Almanac Inc. in Buffalo Grove, Ill.

OT***OT*** Contest Question

What if a stock gets bought out and the deal closes before contest end? For example, Ascend agrees to be bought; at 1:1 LU share; the deal closes before y/e; and for sake of this example say LU closed at $80 the day the deal closes and at $100 <g> at y/e. In this example, how would an ASND pick be treated, eg. disqualified, final price of $80, final price of $100?

Thanks.
