My guess is that the market does not have any direction at the moment. TRIN also hanging around 1-1.05 and when the TICK goes negative usually the TRIN moves higher but it is doing the opposite as well.

Donald, re:VIX, TICK

OEX implied volatility has been inching up throughout the day, currently at 36.75 (+4.43%). While speculation could play a role, my guess is that holders of SP100 stocks are simply buying insurance at the last minute. I'd expect to see VIX ebb in the final hour, UNLESS a radical downside reaction ensues.

On another note, looks like a few internet bets are coming off the table. If the market reacts negatively to AG, techs could get particularly hammered; that is, these have participated most in rate related rallies.
