Olu E. - You said the following in response to my post:

"...Another sanctimonious lecture. We are all in for the ride. So is Warren Buffett, Soros or anybody who buys stocks. The aim is to buy and ride it as long as it makes sense to do so..."

The distinction you failed to catch was between professional investors like Warren Buffet and the Joe Bozos of the world.

Warren knows what he is buying and what it is worth through study and analysis. "Joe Bozo" only knows the stock is going up and so he buys it.

Warren wouldn't touch Amazon at any price. It has few assets (trading at 1400 times book value), in an industry with no barriers to entry, and the company will never earn a penny in profits. Therefore it is worthless as an asset and should have no value in an efficient market without Joe Bozos and momentum fools.

As far as putting my money where my mouth, my position with respect to AMZN stock is not important to the argument. It is not relevant whether I own it or not.
