The company has filed patents for the gene

Does that mean I will I have pay royalties if my wife and I
produce a child? Maybe that news release should have said
they have filed patents for a transcription factor they have
developed to manipulate that gene; by that I would be more
impressed. Don't tell me that companies are discovering and
obtaining patents for the genes themselves.

But what do I know--my cell textbook came from amazon.com
yesterday, six pages into it I found myself running upstairs
for my college chem 201 book;-) He he--I crack myself up!
