<<<How will that affect the little companies DELL works with -- like ICOM <g>?>>>>
At one time I thought stock prices of suppliers may be a good investment.( like the disk drive mfgrs at the beginning of 1997.
That didn't work(he he,- OUCH), nor has it worked with EDS or Wang, so far. The benefit of having Dell as a buyer is a stream of steady orders, avoiding downturns and cancelled orders (from PC mfgrs who are losing ground) plus a fair but not gross profit. They must recognize by now that Dell is the low-cost producer who is not wasteful of dollars. But if they stick with Dell, their sales can substantially increase, and by increasing the efficiency of their own companies they can profit handsomely in the future.
It don't seem to show up immediately in the stock prices
