Long-term money had nothing to do with yesterday's panic: after all, only 460,000 shares changed hands --out of 9.5 million floating shares. Institutions are not that emotional! Why should they panic in the last mile? I don't say they feel married to ODIS but I know they'll quietly wait until Oct 20th... If ODIS reports a disappointing Q3, then they'll calmly put ODIS down on their blacklist and they'll dump it --whatever their loss will be.

To get back to some microeconomics stuff, don't forget that ODIS's currently enjoying the ''sole survivor's fate'': the ODBMS market's booming but GemStone gave up about 2 years ago, the RDBMS vendors were too big to involve themselves in such a relatively small market, and Versant burnt out just before the lunch bell rang... Too bad! So, ODIS is like the sole survivor on the Treasury Island... Computer Associates noticed that and it landed in a hurry --problem is: Charles got the wrong map! And the Jasmine people could get lost or end up with an empty treasury box....

My 2 cents worth,

Gustave.
