Alomex "In this forum people have accused me of lying and of being ignorant." "I've been called stupid and annoying." "And if I complain, I'm a cry baby." No Alomex, you're just our resident "punching bag". ================================== "I remember a Mad magazine strip in which a fellow is used as a punching bag at school and then gets kicked out for his "frequent participation in fights"."

In this forum people have accused me of lying and of being ignorant. I've been called stupid and annoying.

Alomex,

I don't particularly like what you say about Apple much of the time, then again I admit that I am biased. At the same time, I am very happy that you post on this thread, and I will also defend you (not all the time though).

I think your posts since the last big blowup about two weeks ago have been very professional and very well stated. I'm not going to get into the rights or wrongs with the statements. I suspect that sometimes your right factually, and sometimes you mess up, just like the rest of us.

For the most part, your posts help me to think about things that I might otherwise filter out of my mind. I think that's very good for me and everyone else on this thread. I also think that a little too much animosity has been thrown your way.

You have been a bear, but at the same time you do take short-term long positions, as you have recently. I don't think your thought processes are much different from the rest of us, and I suspect that you benefit from our discourse as much as we benefit from yours.

Sam

<<Tar Baby gets it.>>

I don't think that was meant to say you were a "cry baby".

I think it was a colloquial reference to Southern folklore...The fables of Br'er Rabbit and Br'er Fox.

In one such legend, Br'er Fox sets a trap for Br'er Rabbit by leaving a plastic doll covered in tar on the side of the road.

Br'er Rabbit comes across the "baby" and attempts to engage in friendly conversation. When the doll does not respond, Br'er Rabbit is incensed at the stuck up, anti-social behavior of the baby and let's it know of his dissatisfaction by giving it a shove. His paw immediately gets stuck to the tar-covered baby.

Br'er Rabbit thinks that the baby is trying to pick a fight and punches only to get his other paw stuck. This leaves him vulnerable to Br'er Fox who happens along.

Best told by Uncle Rhemus.

Zippidy-doo-day-day!

Yeah. What's your point?

I've been called stupid and annoying.

So what else is new? I've got people at UC Berkley, DoD, United Technologies, and University of Albany developing -- or building -- microoptical arrays, quantum laser fab processes, and SC magnetohydrodynamic propulsion systems -- and you presume to teach me elementary physics (from Mars!). Then, you get huffy when I dispute your conclusions. How annoying is that? Geeeze!

Just stick to what you actually know and understand -- and everybody will be a lot happier.
