TO: FELLOW P&F HAND CHARTERS

Received a great many requests for a copy of the blank graph P&F charts I use for hand charting that are in Excel format. I'm pleased to see some interest there. Once you start hand charting it will give you a good reason not to 1) mow the lawn, 2) do the dishes, etc. as you can always say: "Darn it's late and I've got to go get my hand charts done." You will actually find it relaxing and rewarding to enter the data and create all the trend lines.

I have received some questions about my graphs. So, as an example I will take the chart that is tabbed '40 - 130' in Excel, hide the 40 to 70 and 91 to 130 and create the last five columns of GE. My hand chart looks like this:

a 9/16/98
b 9/17/98
c 9/22/98
d 9/24/98
e 9/28/98
a b c d e

89

85 X
84 X X
83 X O X
82 X O X
81 X X O X
80 X O X O
79 X O X
78 X O X
77 O X
76 O

72
71

a 9/16/98
b 9/21/98
c 9/23/98
d
e 9/29/98
a b c d e

The dates at the top are the reversal dates and those on the bottom are the buy/sell signal dates. So, on 9/28/98 the chart reversed up to X's and on 9/29/98 (today) it gave a buy signal in column e. (BTW, I stole the reversal dates from Carlton Scobey at scobey-point-figure.com. Look at the examples at the bottom of his home page. I added the buy/sell dates at the bottom my charts.)

Any questions just ask. Want the Excel info, then PM your e-mail.

Take care,

Eric
