My experience with them is from a number of years ago so I would hope that improvements have been made. Viewing quality then was OK and the resolution was so-so. You could see the pixels. Even though they were marketed to the mainstream they never caught on. I always wondered how long it would take to get a superior product to ignite the demand.

Two words:
Resolution Sucks!

Eventually we will be able to point a laser at our retina to "paint" a picture in our eye. When this happens, we'll all be wearing those glasses you're talking about.

P.S. The 3d glasses you mention require a monitor. They use shutter LCD technology.

I tried 3D glasses once a couple years ago. They gave me a monster headache. The throbbing really cut down on the enjoyment of my gaming experience.
