<<FORT LEE, N.J., Sept 29 (Reuters) - CNBC cable network said on Tuesday that its daytime viewership increased 81 percent in the third quarter. The network said in a statement that a record 306,000 households watched its daytime programs during the third quarter, compared to 169,000 a year ago.

According to Nielsen Media Research data, CNBC attracted viewers with its coverage of developments in Washington and Wall Street. CNBC's Prime Time viewership rose by 117 percent in the third quarter, while its Business Day rose by 73 percent. The networks most dramatic increase of 195 percent was in ''hardball with Chris Matthews,'' which airs Monday through Friday at eight p.m.>>
