Comments from NT press report

It seems that NT's data networking business and fiberoptics business is doing well. I was feeling a little nervous holding ASND until I read this:

''(The weakness is) being offset by tremendous growth in our business lists, broadband, fibre optic systems. Our switching business continues to do very well and our new data business is growing at a tremendous pace as well,'' Roth said.

"NT is a garbage company, the company reminds me of a recent Motorola,
one step behind, and always playing catch up!"

NT is not a garbage company. In fact, it is a great company as far as
telecom and datacom concerned. It has both telecom and datacom product
and is very well positioned. I have a great respect for them the
same as for ASND, CSCO, and LU.

The market temperate down turn does not mean the company is in
trouble. I believe it will bounce back. I do not have position in it.
May be it opens up entry point when it goes below $30.

I have spent five years working for them (1987-1992). I like the
company a lot.

Cheers!

As LU gets crushed, a 1:1 exchange looks more and more likely. You seem confident that something will happen tomorrow, but that would be a real shocker IMO. Regards
