RS:

Go to their web site--I think the site is

kastarcom.com

They have the business plan there. The chairman(?) is a co-founder of Echostar, and there is a press release about investments by one of the big sat programmers. So, after a very brief look, it appears legit. I have seen their FCC filings way back and they are always listed with other Ka-band players. They liste Lockheed on a preliminary plan as sat manufacturer, but that is obviously an old plan. These sats sound like what C* has in mind with the spot beams, frequency reuse, etc. They probably went with Loral because the LS-2020 is the perfect vehicle for this plan, and SS/L is already doing all the work for C*'s sats. I am planning on spending more time at their site and talking with management to get a better feel. Like you said though, financing is always the key--just ask L-Star or M2A! By the way, L-Star 1 appears to be back on.
