Hmmm, very interesting!

Sony, a long time ally and partner of the Q, and Toyota with extremely deep pockets. Toyota has been looking for ways to
invest its free cash flow for some time now. Note the strategy will be to compete much cheaper than NTTDocomo. I
would bet almost for certain they will building CDMA2000. This is great!! Take it in the shorts NTT!!

Sony mulls data telecom venture with Toyota, IIJ
TOKYO, Sept 30 (Reuters) - Sony Corp said on Wednesday it was considering entering the data communication service
business in Japan by forming a venture with Toyota Motor Corp and Internet Initiative Japan Inc (IIJ), a major Internet
service provider.

Sony, an audio and video equipment giant, Toyota, Japan's top carmaker, and IIJ reached a basic agreement to form a
joint preparatory company in the near future for data communications services, a Sony spokesman said.

The preparatory company, to be capitalised at 100 million yen, will be owned 40 percent by IIJ and 30 percent each by
Sony and Toyota, the spokesman said.

They aim to apply for permission from the Ministry of Posts & Telecommunications as early as November to start low-cost
data communications services for corporate clients, he said.

Financial daily Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported on Wednesday that the joint venture's capital would be raised to about 10
billion yen by the time it began operations in April 2000.

The newspaper said the venture would offer services in Japan with charges set at about one-third of those of Nippon
Telegraph and Telephone Corp .

The spokesman said the companies had only reached basic agreement on the 100 million yen preparatory venture, but that
if the full venture was set up, it would aim to undercut NTT.

No I don't give up.

Egg? If Ericy caves in, well, then that will happen why I'm on this thread.
