Was this a one time occurrence? Do you have to use FDISK every time you go from disk two to disk one?

I tried the disk 2 disk 1 boot up sequence two times. Both times I had to use Fdisk to make the primary partition on Disk one active to enable booting from disk one. I can not repeat his test mow as I gave up on this configuration for other reasons.

I guess I have been very lucky or you have been very unlucky as in 13 years I have had only 1 hard drive failure. However, I can why see why you want a good method to get back up and running quickly after a hard disk or operating system failure. Hence your approach nicely meets your quickly criterion.

ZP,

The KOT concept and a standard multiboot procedure with a multiboot program vary slightly as to their function. If one is interested in multiple operating systems multiboot programs may be the best way to go.

The advantage of the KOT drive IMO is the independent? nature of the second drive. In the event of a harddrive failure one should be able to restore operations in short order.

Yes the using a boot manager is superior in every aspect to the switching in the BIOS. I think if you tried it you would agree.

Question: Have you have ever tried??

If so, what did you like and dislike??

Sean

Concerning KOT.....are there any particular advantages/disadvantages to having a master and slave on one channel as opposed to using both channels..one drive each?
