G'day all - dear Walter, you asked, "When does the Canadian social security system start buying Canadian stocks?"

My canadian friends in this thread can correct me if I am wrong, but the canadian pension [one of them anyway] RRIA [? or something like that] has the stipulation that a percentage must be in the canadian stock funds [if their accounts are equity fund.] This is in contrast with the US that one's IRA and 401K accounts can be 100% foreign funds [although most people I know prefer to stash their retirement money in the domestic funds b/c of the foreign tax issue.]

Back to NT, after reviewing the many postings and attachments [URLs,] I am not so sure the meeting has caused any confusion, for virtually every company release has mentioned the 3rd Q underestimate is on the revenue side, but many news outlets, like the CNNfN piece cited kept confusing it with earning. It is possible that they are getting information from other than the company. I hate to sound like I have been watching too many X-files [especially I am not a fan of the show,] but my version of understanding is clear as mud, so why are these newsfolks behaved like they can't read?

best, Bosco
