Cabletron Announces Next Generation SPECTRUM Element Manager September 30, 1998 08:09 AM SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 30, 1998-- New Web-Based Distribution Process Heightens Customer Satisfaction Cabletron System's CS SPECTRUM Software Solutions and Services Organization today announced immediate availability of SPECTRUM Element Manager version 2.1. Key enhancements include support for Cabletron's SmartSwitch Router and full compliance with Cabletron's year 2000 policy. The release is currently available for download on demand via Cabletron's electronic commerce web site. This debut ability dramatically accelerates customer access to Cabletron's latest software. Customers are already responding favorably to the new distribution approach. The new application is a maintenance upgrade from version 2.0 and is supported on Windows 95 and Windows NT Workstation 4.0. Version 2.1 touts added Cabletron device support including SmartSwitch 2200, 6000 and 9000 devices, as well as SmartSwitch Routers. The new version also offers enhancements to the framework and applications like third party RMON support and trap integration.
