No, they are different patents in each case. The CREAF/AURL case involves the use of main system RAM and transferring the data across the PCI bus. This means that PCI boards do not have RAM on board. CREAF claims their patent covers this and that the only alternative is for others to keep the RAM on the board.

I'm not positive but I believe the ESST case involved the patent concerning interpolation. Maybe someone else knows more details.
