In general, even on my winning trades, I tend to believe that currency expectations are built into the relative price of bonds. My expectations may see a different price relationship, which is when I put on the spread. Most of the time I am pretty good at this sort of thing. This time I stank the house out. The good news is that I was going to do it with zeroes and then chickened out. Whew!

I don't believe in doing both currency hedging and a bond hedge at the same time. You should do one or the other. Had I done the currency hedge, I would have lost more. So, I can figure I was dumb, but Jim Carey was still out there. -g-
