Les the new democrats want to fix entitlements though. You cant paint all the democrats with a broad brush like that. The same can be said of republicans of course. But imo, as the republicans have moved to the radical right, there is a void left for the fiscally conservative and yet socially open minded policies. It is the dems filling this void, Clinton is clearly one. A republican of course could move towards the middle but my experience is they rarely do. The Ca governor elections are recent examples of this.
