We have some friends that over the last couple of years have ONLY bought the large-cap stocks and have made out like bandits. They keep asking me why I'm obsessed with the small-caps. I tell them, and I believe strongly too, that it is the little companies with high-risk that provides the best returns.
It certainly has been a struggle, however. This year I've been very fortunate and been in three huge moves thus recovering entirely from the Data Race debacle. It seems that all the money is going to the DELL's, MSFT's, and internet stocks. They're so far ahead of any possible growth scenario it's crazy. But our friends stocks go up and up. It's the Dutch Tulip craze but it's working now.
So my question is why not join the herd? ;)
Nah!
I used to hold on to my positions but have learned not to and sell part; I used to buy on abandon as a company I like dropped but don't now; and I used to trust everyone, but don't anymore.
Glad I sold 1/2 and glad you did too.
