Patrick:

Another reason why I think that AG did not go the 1/2 point
drop immediately is that there is a lot of fake wealth because of
the high stock valuations in the US Large Cap Market. This is fake
wealth IMHO. And it should be corrected. Propping it up artificially
with a large interest rate drop is asking for even worse trouble. I
think it is prudent to do this slowly over time. Even if the US
does slip into recession there is nothing extraordinary about this -
capitalistic economies have to go through recessions every now
and then. Of course it isn't fun for shareholders and especially
employees but for every period of prosperity there has to be a shorter
period of despair. The US has enjoyed perhaps an unprecedented
bout of prosperity and now it may be time to face the Wailing of
the Wolves <g>.

Shane (With cheap internet/international labor the best employees and the best companies are those that are the brightest and forever learning/reinventing. The days of long term job security and Defined
Benefit Pension Plans (just had to throw this in) are as passe as the Dodo and Erik Estrada <g>. Eventually things will work out.)
