Do I understand this right that the tick is simply the total of buys and sells summed- regardless of their size? So if there are more buys than sells (positive tick) but the dow is unable to go up, or even goes down, this means many small buyers are being swamped by large sells...right? Or do I have this wrong?

lisa-- but everything is a special edition with these guys. tokyo is gonna fall through the floor tonight...maybe finally people will start to realize the japanese economy isnt in a recession...its in a depression. on a lighter note...i like the guy who replaced insane-a. he didnt out a stupid spon on things like ronnie is prone to do. it was refreshing to actually hear that the dow is down...when it IS. not off its lows, or any other BS. and wasnt bobby the little crybaby...irrational my ass. i cant wait to hear what rubin says manana. 'i'm so upset we werent able to keep the market up...i so wanted the money from the GS IPO'. good luck to all, trey
