Dave,
I have been hearing rumors of a contract? I read about it on the Yahoo message boards, there were 20 mentions to the contract yesterday. I find it very interesting, AC DOCTOR of yahoo said to watch for the final hour of trading and that the contract would be released via press after close because according to him, CIEN did not want daytraders to benefit. What do you think of that?

Exactly. I'd still expect a gap up on technicals. If there is no news or rumor to accompany it--I'm OUT on the gap up.
