CHICAGO, Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- PACEL Corp. (OTC Bulletin Board: PLRP), a software
development company located in Manassas, Va., has signed a strategic marketing and
product distribution agreement with de Beer and Associates, in London, England. de Beer
& Associates will introduce PACEL Corp. software products, particularly the Visual Writer
System(TM) to medical, energy and environmental companies throughout the European
Union and South Africa. Visual Writer System(TM), version 3.0, is an interactive electronic
document and data acquisition software program for Microsoft Windows. It utilizes
Self-Aware and Power Smart Programs to allow non-programmers to design, develop and
implement all phases of the automated document process including the creation, review,
approval, revision, version control, storage, field implementation, data collection, and data
storage and analysis. Its automation capabilities provide pop-up messaging, jumping
between procedure steps, data field incorporation, process monitoring, browse sequencing,
electronic signature collection and automated procedure approval.
de Beer & Associates provides high-level information technology services and products to
commercial and government customers in the areas of information technology, systems
integration, telecommunications, health care systems and services, transportation, energy,
and environmental systems and engineering. de Beer & Associates does business
throughout Europe, South Africa and worldwide. Capitalizing on this agreement and abilities
of the Visual Writer System(TM), de Beer & Associates has already made the short list on
a Tender Offer for Visual Writer System(TM) as part of an overall system for (54) hospitals
in South Africa.
"The Visual Writer System(TM) requires no programming, allowing users to move from
paper records to electronic media quickly and easily," said Dave Calkins, President of
PACEL Corp. "Many industries, including nuclear power plants, hospitals and other small
businesses have not taken this step because they do not have the MIS staff to do all the
programming and until now no other tools were available. Now with the Visual Writer
System(TM), all these industries will be able to eliminate the current two step
documentation process. For example, they will not have to perform their specific processes
using paper documents and later load the information from them manually into a computer
database or store them in paper files or microfiche."
The Visual Writer System(TM) has demonstrated its validity and has received the required
reviews and approvals to meet the highest levels of Nuclear Quality Assurance (NQA-1
certifiable) needed to perform safety-related procedures at Nuclear Power Plants. The
software has also been used on Columbia Space Shuttle Program, and by NASA at the
John C. Stennis Space Center. This system provides clients with an affordable solution to
electronically perform procedures on multiple computer platforms in the field. And the
existing 32-bit NT solution includes hands-free voice control of documents, providing even
greater flexibility for actually performing work. PACEL Corp. specializes in innovative
software products to clients in the commercial, industrial and government marketplace. Its
focus is on developing software solutions that provide the user a simple practical method to
success and intelligently apply data, information and knowledge into their work routines.
The Visual Writer System(TM) has received countless inquiries. Projections are that de
Beer will be taking orders for 10,000 units each of the first two quarters and an additional
15,000 thereafter during the first year. PACEL's estimated revenues on a 65% margin from
these sales shows a conservative estimate of $1,000,000 the first year with a moderate
growth of 20% the following year.
In addition, more distributors are showing a large interest in the Visual Writer System(TM).
PACEL is currently in negotiations with these distributors and expecting similar results.
Other projects in the works also show promise in working with some of the major computer
vendors and possibly bundling the software packages with sales.
