George, For me, God is present in every moment, yet His presence is crystallized and made palpable in specific moments. The scene I described was one of those. I don't share this sensibility at all. What you see is your imagination, and you may need to check your oil. " . . .wonderful meeting of plagued humans" Plagued? Hmmm, those in attendance were more truly alive than most healthy people I know-- their lives brought into focus by their battles with cancer and coming to terms with their own mortality. What often appears a curse is regularly a blessing. I speak of what I know: my mother has survived 5 major bouts of cancer, and her struggle has been a beautiful (while painful) object lesson in living for me. " . . .ridiculous, inane, spooky, brainwashed, psychopathic." Perhaps so, but oddly enough those weren't the words people used when thanking me after the event. I guess somehow my music transcends the delusional core from which it springs. (You know, we artists aren't known as the paragons of mental health.) Rick
