The press didn't do the public a favor by hiding the infirmed condition of Kennedy (and Roosevelt). This contributed to perceptions by the Soviets of weakness.

Re Powell, I would be comfortable with him too. His military experiences and training wouldn't permit him to BS us like 'The Coward" does. While I possibly may not agree on everything that he would propose as President, at least, I believe he is honest and a person with sincere convictions, no pop morality BS here.

He is a very good role model for his race and I don't believe he would BS them, too. I suspect that he believes that rewards are due to those that earn them, no lifetime entitlements based on color of skin, or whining about past injustices, real or imaginary.
