Dear Bob, all joking aside, my personal impression is that the media weren't as friendly to Nortel mgt. I remember I saw a clip on NBR where Suzie Gerub [sp?] was interviewing Roth and House, when the merger was 1st announced, and, if memory serves, the former was literally putting words in House's mouth. However, House [was probably caught offguard and] was visibly displeased. I mean, while the latter had grounds to feel that way, it does show his eccentric streak and likely not well received. OTOH, last week, Mr Chambers was very smooth [of course, the interviewer [Darren Gurst?] didn't show much abrasiveness either.]

Personally, being in the technology field, I am more used to this kind of personalities, but I suspect most of us here would agree there is no sense to waste energy with the street. Mgt should come clean on one hand and beef up its IR skill one the other. Mgt then can get this monkey off its back. The street/media can feel good. And us shareholders don't have to end up to be collateral damage

best, Bosco
