One part of your post is completely wrong. TXN is behind, which is why they are folding up shop and giving MU money to take the fabs off their hands. In fact the Twinstar fab is already closed. If MU is ahead it isn't due to TXN.

Mike, The herd actually loves MU, which is why it is so overpriced. Anything that even has a whiff of positive to it sends this manipulated dog flying.

The TXN deal has zero to do with the technology race. As does MU. They have always allowed others to develop technology while they concentrated on mfg. the commodity part of the market. Which is why they miss all the short periods of profit for new chips. And why they never have any free cash flow, even in the upcycle.

If the herd hated this one, why would it be selling in the $30s after huge losses and a shrinking of cash, while much better cos., such as AMAT, Analog Devices, etc, which do have a future, are selling much lower? Nope, it's all a pr scam.
