Thanks for the info, now I am beginning to understand, why when I sent a sell order to close out some of my funds positions with Fidelity on Sunday, August 30, 1998, the order didn't go through until Tuesday, September 1. My stock orders (Scottrade) went through as soon as the market opened. My orders to cash out my other mutual funds (Vanguard) were executed as of close of business the day of the order, but that was what I expected, based on their representations. I understood that Fidelity would process my orders immediately, like a stock broker. The delay in executing my orders caused me to suffer substantial loss. Unfortunately, I have been ill, and have been meaning to check this out when I was able to cope with it, but it looks like I would be wasting my time.

Joe, make requests by mail gee wouldn't it be terrible if a disgruntled employee torched the mailroom? Reminds me of the story in the 29 crash when a floor broker found a waste basket full of orders which were never executed. Mike
