Mr. Frank Lang reports
A recent review of the thousands of old records of the former high grade gold producing Idaho-Maryland mine has identified a significant gold resource at a vertical depth of only 600 to 700 feet from the surface. Two previous holes drilled horizontally into the Idaho 87 vein indicated a large resource with a true thickness of more than 20 feet and a grade of 0.40 ounces of gold per ton.
The Idaho-Maryland mine in Grass Valley, California produced approximately 2.4 million ounces of gold up to 1956 when it was closed due to the fixed price of gold at $35 per ounce and escalating costs. Independent engineering reports indicate a further three million ounce gold resource at a grade of 0.326 ounces per ton of gold remain in the mine.
A surface drilling program is proposed to test this structure and confirm the presence of a potentially large near surface high grade gold resource. An initial program of 3,200 feet of NQ drilling in four holes is planned. If successful, another six holes will be drilled to further delineate additional gold resources.
The proposed program is estimated to cost $115,000 (U.S.) and is subject to further financing.
