Yahoo's market cap now exceeds that of the following companies:

Goodyear Tire & Rubber
J.C. Penney
General Mills
Honeywell
Seagram Co
Union Pacific Corp
Coca-Cola Enterprises (Nasdaq: COKE)
Deere & Co
3 Com
Nissan Motor Co
Charles Schwab
Applied Materials
Archer Daniel's Midland
British Airways
RJR Nabisco
Nike
Transamerica Corp
UNOCAL Corp
Unicom
Mc-Graw Hill
Tribune Co
Mattel
Aetna
Hershey Foods
Hartford Financial Services
Polygram
Northern Trust
Occidental Petroleum
PPG Industries
AMR ( American Airlines) , Delta Airlines, United Airlines, Southwest Airlines.... actually every airline in the United States .
There are only 216 companies that have a market cap higher than Yahoo's.
I could list them... there is no need to, you have heard of them all.
From this point on, any bullish argument made about Yahoo has to assume that not only will Yahoo be the biggest player on the the net, but that web advertising ( or being a portal) will be one of the biggest industries, period. That more dollars will be spent on web advertising than on food, automobiles, telephone, movies, utilities, computers, software, television advertising, air fair, defense, health care, etc.

" Can anyone tell me why this company with $ 71.4 MILLION in REVENUES for the sixth moths ended 6/98 has a market cap of 12.154 BILLION?"

if you're gonna try to determine the investment suitability of any
internet stock, you might first consider that the traditional valuation
approach, is entirely inappropriate.
