Legal action ?!? Depends how much (if any) stock they gave to C-Cube to keep them happy. Oh, there are a bunch of other engineers from the old companies there too, not just the head-in-the-clouds founders ("oh, look at me, I got VC funding from Sequoia!!" rejoinder: "yeah, guess you fogged the mirror when they held it up to your mouth..") There's also plenty of interesting things one can do to the systems layer to make life very hard for SkyStream & friends. It's going to be one entertaining Winter! "Gee, I'm so clever, I'm going to start a transcoder company. The CTO doesn't believe in it!" Yeah, ever heard of ATLANTIC, buddy ?!? All these companies have a certain ethnic camp which tends to erect thick communications wall within the company. Hmm. Perhaps all this breakway business is the result of some "clensing" at Cube.
