OC. Relax. There is nothing startling or new in the Montgomery estimate revisions, which actually were published last Friday 9/25. They just (finally) updated their Amazon model for Planet All and Junglee acquisitions.

>> Amazon's earnings were lowered by 100 % two weeks ago, and now Nationsbanc Montgomery just reduced them ANOTHER 100%. <<

That is only one analyst's estimate. Do you know if the drastic cut lowered the consensus by much? It looks like the widest loss estimate previous to this was (0.69) so a change from (0.34) to (0.73) looks pretty significant.

>> I've been told by an extremely reliable source that there was going to be a conference call between AMZN execs and analysts on friday- these new revisions could be what they're going to discuss. <<

Was? Past tense? I'm going to hold you to this one, OC. Are you saying that there is going to be a CC on Friday or there was one but it was cancelled?

RE: Two 100% reductions in earnings

That first 100 per cent reduction must have pretty much wiped out earnings, so the subsequent 100% reduction couldn't have hurt very much more, could it?
