You will not believe this story...

I got yesterday the september number of the magazine from my on-line broker. Since Jan 1st three four "personalities" have been showing off their portfolios and how they manage it etc. Now dig this: on Sep 15th not one of them had any puts. But!, they still (still) had calls and/or warrants. Two examples: one has some unknown stuff (worthless - cost him 15% of his, as he called it, conservative portfolio). The other one had dax calls (of course worthless also). On average they lost 25% on paper without moving a finger: as a group, their transactions in the period 15.aug-15.sep amounted to no more than ~1% of the initial worth of assets. Their cash position on 15th september was ~< 5% and they were ~50% in stocks.

I see all those poor slobs that said to themselves :"I like Mr XY, he's got a great tie" and followed them like lemmings...

I'm intrigued about whose money these dodos have been losing. Whereby I guess, this is nothing compared to the damage they caused by literally doing nothing.

I'll report back again in a month...
