Osprey, I agree in principal that a promoter should publicly disclose his role with the company he/she/it is promoting. In reality, the Vancouver Stock Exchange, with its new get tough policies, has effectively driven most promoters underground.

The promoters you are referring to are those on the fringes, the hired guns so to speak. The real "Promoters" or "Operators" never usually expose themselves and they are the ones making or breaking a market.

If VSE listed companies actually followed the rules regarding promotion, virtually every VSE stock would be bid $.01 ask $.02. Come to think of it, these days most of them are. <g>

I cannot comment on the U.S rules as I have no experience in that jurisdiction.

>>"How do you feel about people or groups that post regularly, hype or spam stocks who are being paid a fee whether it be cash or shares of the company in lieu of the service and do not disclose their affiliation as a promoter of the stock in question?<<

Osprey, they are nothing short of scumbags in my books. It's also highly illegal in the US and Canada to do this. Using an alias or a number of aliases to accomplish this kind of scam is also another way these low lifes operate. Perhaps if they were brought to SI's attention, something could be done, I don't know. I don't mind a promoter or IR person posting here just as long as he discloses his reasons for posting and a real name is used. If they are not willing to do this, I treat the stock as nothing more than a piece of sh*t if it isn't worth being honest about.
