Brazilian shares tumble 3.04 pct on global crisis

SAO PAULO, Oct 1 (Reuters) - Brazilian shares tumbled 3.04 percent at the beginning of trade on Thursday as sharp declines in bourses overseas fueled concerns that the global financial crisis will drag out, further pressuring Brazil, traders said.

''The perspective for the bolsa here is pretty sad with the declines in the exterior,'' a trader at a local brokerage said.

Sao Paulo's key Bovespa index slumped to 6,393 points.
