MB - I tried biotechs a few years back. Never understood them enough to have much success. My most recent failure was NEOP, which I exited 6-9 months ago. These days biotechs and pharmaceutical stocks are pretty much the same thing (or soon will be) so I prefer to invest in the larger companies. I also think it is a long term (5+ year) play, as I'm a strong believer in the demographic issue of the aging of America. In my kids accounts and main IRA I own a combination of LLY, PNU, and MRK. LLY has the best pipeline right now, so I'm more heavily weighted there. I have a second "play IRA" where I trade, including options, where the fund level is down from plays like NEOP.
